About the Role

As a Head of Engineering (HOE) at Lamar Health, you’ll bridge the gap between our core platform and the real-world needs of our customers — health systems, clinics, and care teams. You’ll work hand-in-hand with our CEO, sales, engineers and customers to understand their workflows, design solutions that streamline operations, and ensure that our technology drives measurable impact in patient outcomes and care efficiency.

We are looking for a player-coach type personality that loves to live in the code and build process, teams and systems to help scale for our next phase of growth.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to develop the roadmap based on real-world customer needs.

• Help ensure reliability, scalability and extendibility of our core product offering.

• Help decide what we DO NOT do.

• Manage the engineering team and set up systems and processes for growth and development

• Be a hands on player-coach for the team, 50% of the time in the code and 50% managing

Who You Are

• You have 4-7 years of experience building and shipping software in production (Python, TypeScript, or similar).

• You’re excited about the intersection of technology, healthcare, and product thinking.

• You’re comfortable in ambiguity — prioritizing impact over perfection.

• You value outcome based engineering.

• You value empathy and communication as much as technical skill.

• You want to see your work directly improve healthcare delivery and patient experience.

• Comfort working in regulated or privacy-sensitive environments (HIPAA, SOC2).
