About the role
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a centralized marketing communications and brand role: brand look and feel, social media strategy, and content across channels, in service of M1's growth chain, brand and credibility, producer recruitment, premium. It builds the image and communications M1 needs to be perceived as credible by agents and by the clients they introduce.
Working agent relationships, on-the-ground recruiting and producer development sit with the Regional Business Directors. This role builds the brand, content and channel strategy that supports the RBDs' work, and directs the vendors who produce the material.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Own M1's brand look and feel across all marketing touchpoints, visual identity, tone, and consistency, including sign-off on the brand book once finalized.
Set and run the social media strategy across M1's markets and languages, directing the content/digital production vendor, briefing, deadlines, quality bar, and a record of both.
Own marketing communications more broadly: website content (including the adviser-facing component), collateral, and any brochures or campaign materials.
Bring current, practical fluency in how marketing actually works today, social platforms, content formats, and artificial intelligence tools, rather than a static or legacy approach to brand and communications.
Work the marketing request form as the standing intake gate, with prioritization owned by the M1 Specialty team.
Set, with the M1 Specialty team, the measurement framework for this function at engagement, brand and content performance, channel growth, and engagement quality.
REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
Working understanding of financial services, enough to write and design credibly for that audience rather than deep insurance-specific tenure. Fluency in how the industry communicates matters more than years inside it.
Demonstrated, current fluency in social media strategy and content across platforms, and comfort using artificial-intelligence tools as part of the actual workflow, not just awareness that they exist.
A strong sense of brand, visual identity, tone, and consistency, with a portfolio or examples that show it.
Demonstrated ability to direct vendors and agencies, brief, deadline, quality bar rather than a need to personally produce every asset.
Professional bilingual English/Spanish at minimum, given the language footprint across our markets. Portuguese, Japanese or Simplified Chinese are an asset, not a screen.
ENGAGEMENT STRUCTURE
Structure is decided by fit, not fixed in advance
An in-house dedicated hire, or a boutique agency / freelance collective, either is acceptable if the person or firm is fully dedicated to M1 rather than split across other clients.
Location: this position is fully remote and open to candidates worldwide. Preference for a US-aligned time zone, but not exclusively US-based candidates outside the US are acceptable provided the time zone overlap supports daily collaboration with the M1 Specialty team and the Regional Business Directors.
The scope stays bounded regardless of structure: one intake route (the marketing request form), a stated priority rule, and a compliance turnaround commitment.
REPORTING LINE
Direct management direction, accountability, approvals sits with M1's administration and operations leadership. Other functions are consultative voices, not co-managers.
COMPENSATION
Compensation will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process.
